Barukh Adonai Elohim |

God of Israel, God of Wonders... |

Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, |
Jewish tradition requires that we personally bless the LORD no less than 100 times a day. Many Hebrew blessings found in the prayer book (or Siddur) include the opening invocation, "Baruch atah, Adonai eloheinu...," which may be translated "Blessed are You, Lord our God...." In the verse above, we can see that this phrase derives from the Scriptures themselves: Blessing God for his marvelous deeds is always right, always the appropriate response to Who he is: for He alone does truly wonderful things. |
